Bwindi Lodge

In the midst of the impenetrable jungle in southwestern Uganda, Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge is located on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The national park is one of the few areas in the world where the endangered mountain gorillas still live in the wild and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Only a narrow river separates the lodge's guests from the lush green foliage of the forest, which is one of the last untouched spots on earth. Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge is not only an excellent base for trekking and safaris in the tracks of the unique gorillas, but also for observing numerous species of monkeys and birds hiding in the mysterious thicket. In the lodge's authentic bandas and with sensational views over the treetops, true nature lovers are completely in their element at Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge.

Culinary

At the heart of the lodge is the open-plan main building with a bar, lounge, small library, restaurant and dining area. From the extensive veranda overlooking the mystical forest, it is wonderful to observe a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. The sumptuous breakfast, light lunch and four-course dinner are also served here. The Ugandan dishes with an international touch are lovingly and freshly prepared and accompanied by a large selection of soft drinks as well as international wines and spirits. A special highlight after each gorilla trek is a visit to the Bwindi Bar, which was opened by the lodge as a community project to provide disadvantaged youth from the community with training in the hospitality industry.
