01 Kigali

Arrive & explore

Your journey begins in Kigali, a city that immediately conveys a pleasant feeling. After landing, the first day remains intentionally calm. You arrive, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and gaze over the gentle hills. The next day is all about Kigali. On a guided tour, you will discover places that shape the city – small markets, local workshops, vibrant neighborhoods, and, if you wish, the Genocide Memorial. Kigali combines history, present, and a lot of warmth, a beautiful start to the journey into Rwanda's nature.

02 Nyungwe Nationalpark

Rainforest & chimpanzees

On the third day, your Rwanda trip takes you south, to one of the last great mountain rainforests in East Africa. Nyungwe National Park welcomes you with dense vegetation, misty clouds, and the scent of moist wood. A chimpanzee trekking experience is one of the most impressive encounters here. You will follow the calls deep into the forest and observe the animals from a respectful distance. Those who wish can complement their stay with a canopy walk or light hikes to viewpoints. Nyungwe is quiet, expansive, and a place where one perceives nature very intensively.

03 Volcanoes Nationalpark

Mountain gorillas & volcanic landscape

Next, you continue north, where the volcanoes of the Virunga chain dominate the landscape. Volcanoes National Park is home to the mountain gorillas and the emotional center of this journey. The trekking starts in the morning and leads through bamboo forests, fern landscapes, and moist vegetation. The moment you encounter a gorilla family is deeply moving and stays in memory for a long time. Additionally, a golden monkey trekking or quiet walks are offered to get to know the region even better. The days here are intense yet pleasantly slow.
