Itinerary
Welcome to East Africa
The journey begins in Arusha – a small town at the foot of Mount Meru, surrounded by lush coffee fields, tropical vegetation, and the scent of Africa in the air. Here you can relax after the flight, catch your breath, and arrive in peace. The clear mountain air, the gentle light, and the open friendliness of the people create a cheerful start to your safari adventure. Arusha is the perfect starting point to prepare for the coming days – calm, authentic, and full of anticipation for the wilderness.
Safari in the Crater
On the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater awaits one of Tanzania's most impressive landscapes. In the vast caldera, a remarkable diversity of wildlife lives in close quarters – including lions, elephants, hippos, zebras, and, with a bit of luck, even the rare black rhinoceros. On the game drives, you experience the wildlife here as concentrated as nowhere else in Tanzania. Surrounded by wooded crater rims and open grasslands, a landscape with a special atmosphere is created. A visit to the surrounding Maasai areas also provides a fascinating cultural insight.
In the footsteps of the Great Migration
The Serengeti is one of the most impressive safari areas in East Africa – especially during the Great Migration. Thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes traverse the open savannah, providing fascinating wildlife observations. Predators follow the herds, and exciting scenes occur at the rivers as animals cross the water. At the same time, there are quiet moments – like in the early morning when the landscape is bathed in warm light and the wildlife slowly awakens. Safari here means: movement, dynamics, pure wilderness. A place where the life of animals is revealed in all its intensity.
Culture and Perspective Shift
Kigali offers a smooth transition from nature experiences to urban culture. The Rwandan capital is surprisingly green, modern, and open – with friendly people, a vibrant art scene, and moving history. Those who want to delve deeper can visit the genocide memorial or stroll through markets and small studios. Kigali is not only the starting point for gorilla trekking, but also a place to pause – a contrast to the wilderness that opens up new perspectives.
Gorilla Trekking in the Rainforest
The Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda is a protected retreat for the last mountain gorillas. Here begins the final great adventure of your journey: gorilla trekking. Accompanied by experienced rangers, you venture into the rainforest on foot – over soft paths, through bamboo forests, and past tropical plants. After a somewhat challenging ascent, you will finally be in close proximity to a gorilla family. It is a quiet, intense moment that touches and stays with you.
Journey Home
After the encounter with the mountain gorillas, it is back to Kigali, where your return journey begins. In your luggage: impressive wildlife observations, intense nature experiences, and special encounters that will resonate long after. This journey leaves traces – not only in memories but also in one's outlook on the world.
