Rooms

With only eight comfortably furnished tented chalets, Semliki Safari Lodge stands for an exclusive nature experience in a family atmosphere. In the style of the first safari pioneers, you will stay here in thatched tent accommodations with a combined living/sleeping area and wooden veranda for relaxed wildlife viewing. The private bathroom with hot and cold running water and a shower provides the necessary comfort after exciting days in the wilderness. At the same time, you are closer to nature under the canvas roof than in a classic bungalow - smell the freshness of the rain, feel the first rays of the day's sun on your skin and listen to the nightly soundtrack of the African bush.

Culinary

While the communal meals are taken in the cosy main building with spacious dining tables and comfortable armchairs and sofas for sociable evenings, you start the day leisurely with a hot cup of coffee or tea before the first safari activities. After the morning game drives or exploration tours, the lovingly prepared breakfast tastes all the better. All the food served is freshly prepared on-site, which makes the lodge also interesting for foodies and gourmets.

Location

Safari experiences away from the hunt for sensations: Slow down, become one with nature and sharpen your senses for the small details - while the Semliki Wildlife Reserve doesn't promise game drives in the footsteps of the Big Five, you can marvel at rare bird species like the shoebill and rainforest-dwelling wildlife like elephants, antelopes and lions on delightfully relaxing boat trips. Guided walks with knowledgeable guides will teach you all about the reserve's primate population, which is also the subject of scientific research. With its unique location on the southern shore of Lake Albert, the Semliki Wildlife Reserve offers diverse habitats for numerous species.

Activities

Whether on the Semliki River or Lake Albert - large parts of the reserve can be easily discovered by water. Glide on a boat through the evergreen swamp landscape and keep an eye out for the animals living on the shore. In addition to walking tours with different themes, night game drives are also offered. The Semliki Wildlife Reserve looks back on a long tradition as Uganda's first conservation reserve and presents itself today as a pleasant alternative to the usual safari programs.
