Safety in the Republic of Congo

Safety in the Republic of Congo

Unlike the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo is generally considered a safe country. Except for demonstrations, large gatherings of people and unrest with possible violent clashes and traffic disruptions, the situation can still be classified as stable.

Even if the military operations in the southern department pool, including the disarmament of the rebels and the start of reintegration, have ended, a resumption of fighting cannot be completely ruled out. However, this is currently rather unlikely.

Increased caution with regard to crime is advised in the districts of Ouenzé, Talangai, Bakongo, Poto-Poto, Makélékélé of Brazzaville and in the port city of Pointe-Noire.

In the national parks like the Odzala-Kokoua you do not have to worry about anything.
