For over ten years, I have been passionately involved in tourism – and gorilla trekking is one of the travel experiences that captivates me the most. In Uganda and Rwanda, it's about so much more than just the gorillas: kayaking, hiking, or a classic safari can be excellently combined with trekking – this variety is what makes the region so special for me. At Gorilla Memories, I advise you around your encounter with the gentle giants, with exactly the enthusiasm that this topic awakens in me.
Gorilla trekking is not an ordinary vacation, but a true goosebumps adventure. Meeting these gentle giants in their protected home is an experience that will accompany you for your entire life and remains unforgettable.
On my bucket list
Meza Malonga
On top of my list, besides gorilla trekking itself, is the experience "Meza Malonga" – perfect for foodies like me. Here, Africa's famous star-up-and-coming chefs serve an 8- to 10-course menu of Afro-fusion cuisine, spread over an entire afternoon, with a view of the lake and the volcanoes.
My next trip
Wilderness Magashi Peninsula
On my next trip, I definitely want to experience the newly opened Wilderness Magashi Peninsula Camp – in Rwanda's most remote corner of Akagera National Park, where you can even find the Big 5. What makes the camp so special is the combination of solar-powered eco-luxury and the spectacular location, where you can look directly at Lake Rwanyakazinga while having breakfast – and that you can even sleep at night in a skybed directly under the starry sky.
About Julia – How Gorilla Trekking Conquered My Heart
I am fascinated by journeys that inspire real wonder – and gorilla trekking is exactly that for me. It is not something you simply check off, but a true privilege and an adventure you consciously engage in. I am thrilled by this untouched nature and the knowledge that such an encounter remains a memory for a lifetime.
I want to share this enthusiasm with you when you decide on your own gorilla trip – whether it’s the first encounter with the mountain gorillas in Bwindi, meeting chimpanzees, or combining it with a classic safari. I look forward to accompanying you on this very special adventure.
